About Laura

Laura was introduced to watercolor on an annual vacation to the Big Island where she and her daughters painted with watercolor artist Candace Lee. Although painting began as a hobby, it has since evolved into a lifelong artistic journey. Laura has enjoyed taking classes and workshops with artists as varied as Jim Caldwell (Woodside, CA), Kathleen Alexander (Maui, HI), Alvaro Castanet (Montevideo, Uruguay), Andy Evanson (MN), David R. Smith (MN), Michael Reardon (Berkeley, CA), Mike Bailey (Santa Cruz, CA) and Pat Dews (NYC). Each has generously shared their deep knowledge, techniques and unique artistic styles for which she is most grateful. Laura hasn’t put in her 10,000 hours yet. She is still growing and her own style continues to evolve. Here are some of her paintings that she’s completed on this journey — many from the classes and workshops she has taken along the way.
